Conditional Use

A municipal Zoning By-law lists categories of land uses (e.g. agriculture, residential, commercial, etc.) and assigns each property one of these categories, and lists what types of uses are allowed within a land use category. Some of types of uses are listed as “conditional” which means that due its location, intensity or some other aspect, has to be reviewed and approved before it can be allowed on a property.

Conditional Use applications are decided on by the Municipal Council.
